Hair Follicle Stimulator by TherapyG: Review

The good:

The internet is full of positive reviews of Therapy G Follicle Stimulator. Many people cite fuller hair, and long-term use, and some review it after being loyal for years.

One woman in particular described that before she started using this product, she was losing 20-30 strands per shampooing, but it’s now down to losing 3-5 strands.

She saw similar improvement while combing, which is exactly how you want to measure improvement in your hair loss. Fewer fallen strands means improved health for the follicles, as they do a better job of holding onto and gripping the hair.

Not everyone has sensitivities to the ingredients in it that I personally dislike (the propylene glycol and denatured alcohol), and honestly we all come in contact with these every day even in our FOOD. For most people, this will not pose a problem.

The bad:

Some users are uncomfortable with the redness that temporarily results from using this product.

Because of the presence of propylene glycol, I think this product is best avoided by pregnant and nursing women. While inconclusive, studies have shown it can sometimes be harmful to fetuses.

I would like to see Therapy G improve upon their recipe with fewer harsh chemical ingredients.

Overall – Try it out!

If you sign up for their newsletter, you’ll get 10% off your first order.  I’d strongly encourage you to do this and save $!

You can also buy Therapy G Follicle Stimulator from, but you get the 90 day guarantee if you buy it directly from them, so I think buying from them directly is the better choice.

I don’t lose much hair but I do suffer from breakage from time to time. Do you think this product would be good to strengthen hair over all? I imagine that it could probably be used for people experiencing breakage or people with fragile, thin hair as well. What are your thoughts? Is there a product that you can recommend for breakage?

The folks at TherapyG advertise their products for thin/fine hair and hair loss equally, since both are related to follicle health. I’d say this would be a good place to start. Supplement-wise, collagen peptides can fix a lot, including frail breaking hair.

Oh Wow! This Therapy G Follicle Simulator sounds really interesting. I never had any experience with the product but, I do like the fact that you get a 90 day full refund. That is amazing!

I have never heard of a hair product that you can try out, and if you are not satisfied with it. You get your money back. This is like a no-brainer!.

I also love the fact that it has peppermint in it. I love peppermint smelling hair products. It makes the scalp tingle. I just love that! It makes me feel as the product is actually working. And from what I experienced it really does help the hair grow.
Awesome post and thank you for keeping me informed!

Thanks for the great comment, Lakisha! I’m right there with you, I love the smell of peppermint and the sensation of the tingle, which is nothing more than improved scalp circulation. And yeah, this 90 day money back makes this one a major no brainer!

    Hi there,

is this product suitable for both, men and women? I am looking for something for my dad! Is there a point where this does not help anymore? Cause he lost a lot already!

    Thanks very much!

Hi Manny – great questions. yes, this product is suitable for both men and women.

As for your father, it depends on how long his hair has been “gone” and whether he merely has weak, underproducing unnourished follicles or whether they’ve been long-dead. Hair loss products can’t bring hair back from the dead, they can only help bolster and support existing struggling but LIVING follicles. If he’s been stone cold bald for years, chances are this will only help him with the hair he has remaining. If not, then it may help him grow new hair!

Great to see an article that highlights the artificial ingredients. I like honesty. Most people are not aware of the dangers of Sodium Laurel Sulphate in toothpaste. The body absorbs into the mouth faster than anything else. And SLS is used in cars as antifreeze. It is toxic to humans. I think your product could help males too. Thanks for the review.

Hi Dave – yes, it’s true that SLS is dangerous, but luckily that’s not one of the ingredients in this product. You can also read more about why I think that particular ingredient is evil, here.

Yes, this product works for males, too! Thanks for reading.

I don’t really lose a lot of hair, probably about average. People often comment how healthy my hair looks. My issue with anything to do with hair products and skin care is I have a lot of allergies. Do you think this product would be okay for people with allergies or would you recommend something else?

    • 12
Penelope on December 18, 2017 Reply

It depends on what you’re allergic to. If you have known allergies to any of these ingredients (peppermint, for example), then this is not the product for you. You might want to consider switching to an all natural plant based shampoo that offers hair support, just to keep the good health going! Try Phytoworks or even Majestic Pure!

Wow this article is really in depth! I find that the reviews side of it and what others had to say about it was very interesting. It’s quite incredible that it makes such a change and strengthens the hair follicles that much!

    Thanks for the great review:)

Hi Penelope, I like the look of therapy G as it is not hugely expensive which is great, and I like things that are easy like shampoos. I’m like you, I hate superfluous added chemicals in products and think they should be banned completely, but I’m a bit two faced as I will use them if they work, ha ha. Sometimes the benefits can out weigh the risks and this could be one of those times AND like most women, I would do anything for a nice head of thick lustrous hair! 🙂

Yeah, when it comes right down to it, we’re all pragmatists when it comes to beauty! Botox actually comes from a bacteria that paralyzes our muscles, believe it our not! TherapyG Follicle Stimulator could have some improvements but it seems to work for plenty of people, and the ends justify the means!

Thanks for the balanced review. Can this product also stimulate new hair growth in follicles? I like how it has peppermint but I agree, I wish these products didn’t have to have some of the chemicals that they often come with.

Hi Valerie – yes, this product is specifically designed to stimulate the follicles to better health, and to producing and holding onto more hair strands. thanks for reading!

I am one of those who get irritated skin when exposed to propylene glycol, so this product is probably not for me. I agree that there is no need for artificial coloring of beauty products. The best products have often a short list of ingredients, and the others are peppered with chemicals.
    Thanks for this review! 🙂

Thanks for the feedback, Marika! You’ll probably have more luck with the terrific Just Nutritive line of products, since they contain no…well, no anything except for plant and seed oils. I would just encourage you to read the ingredients closely in case you have existing allergies to any of those plant-based ingredients. thanks for reading!

Another great review Penelope =) I always love to read when you present both the good and the “not so good” part of the product. It always makes us have an informed choice in deciding. Having this a product of choice will definitely help a lot of peeps. Thanks for this =)

I like that you noticed and mentioned some of the things I noticed with the ingredients. It’s going in my hair–why do I need dyes? When I want dye..I just go buy that box that says “dye”. lol. I would say that for most people, this product sounds like a winner. With their 90 day refund policy that’s plenty of time to see if the product works for them, and see if they have any sensitivities. The technology that went in to making this product is pretty awesome and the company has done their research on how to improve hair. Thumbs up!

    Hi Penelope,
Thanks for the honest review. It’s so refreshing to hear the truth about products so we can make an informed decision. Is this product quite feminine smelling? I know a couple males who would be interested in it.

This is interesting. It is the first time I am reading about Follicle stimulation.
I do appreciate the honest review. I imagine that if you use this product, you will have to buy the shampoo of the same brand also? or can you use other brands with it like Art Naturals Hair Growth Shampoo?

Penelope on December 24, 2017 Reply

Hi Dira – I deliberately didn’t review all of the TherapyG “kit” products and tried to narrow in on their best one. This can be used with any good hair loss shampoo, like Art Naturals or Pura D’Or. Thanks for the great question!

I am not in the stages of hair loss but I do have fine hair so that worries me that I may have to deal with it later in age. I love your review of shampoos because you give us so many different options. Is there some steps I can take now as a prevention or is there a shampoo you have reviewed that you can recommend for me?

    • 33
Penelope on December 30, 2017 Reply

Hi Melissa, thanks for the question. and the short answer is simply: yes. You should try something with some extra nourishment and DHT blocking, to improve the health of the hair you already have and keep it from falling out. For an inexpensive starter shampoo, I’ll recommend the OGX Fight Fallout. This one is awesome. Thanks for reading!
