What is Phytoworx Hair Recovery?

Phytoworx Organic Hair Loss Hair Recovery Shampoo is a unique, one-of-a-kind product that includes plant stem cells as an active ingredient.

These plant stem cells come from an apple (Malus Domestica) that originates from Switzerland.

The folks at Phytoworx claim that these stem cells work wonders for your hair, delaying aging in the follicles and delaying cell deterioration.

This shampoo has been shown to improve the maintenance of the stem cells characteristics of epidermal cells

Other Phytoworx Shampoo Ingredients:

In addition to the Stem Cells, Phytoworx contains a number of other organic ingredients.

Aloe Vera Juice

  • Aloe Vera has many established health benefits, and this extends to our hair and scalp. Aloe Vera has an established  ability to protect the scalp and new stimulate growth

Ginger Root Extract

  • Ginger root contains magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, and vitamins that nourish hair follicles, making them strong and preventing hair loss. Ginger also acts as a natural conditioner.

Green Tea Extract

According to Livestrong.com:

  • “A paper published by researchers from Japan’s Saitama Cancer Center Institute showed that the same Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) implicated in arthritic diseases and cancer is also involved in causing hair loss.
  • According to the Amazing Green Tea website, this paper showed that green tea can suppress the production of TNF-alpha, making it a possible cure for baldness.
  • In addition, the study showed that drinking large quantities of green tea can have an effect on DHT, which is linked to hair growth during puberty and baldness in adulthood for some.”

Licorice Extract

  • Studies have shown that licorice is effective at reducing infections, clearing allergic reactions, and reducing damage from chemical exposure.
  • It is also beneficial for reversing hair loss caused by chemical damage, dye, and stress on the hair.

Cucumber Fruit Extract

  • Cucumbers contains vitamins A, C and the nutrient silica, which all promote hair growth. Cucumber repairs and strengthens damaged and thinning hair, especially when combined with aloe or egg.
  • Cucumber is soothing because of its alkaline minerals, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium; and raw cucumber juice offers benefits when applied directly to the scalp and hair.

Pomegranate Extract

  • Drinking pomegranate juice helps to strengthen hair follicles. Pomegranate seed oil contains punicic acid which makes hair strong, thick and healthy. Pomegranate seed oil also improves circulation to the scalp, which improves hair growth and health.

There are other ingredients including several natural essential oils known to promote hair growth.

Allergys? Here’s my best tip: Always read your labels!

SLS hair lossWhat ISN’T in Phytoworks Shampoo?

Sulfates. Yup. This is another great sulfate-free offering, and it’s exciting to see more shampoo and hair loss products catching onto the reality that sulfates are just bad and don’t belong on our freaking skin and hair.

It’s interesting that Phytoworx doesn’t contain Saw Palmetto or other prominent DHT blockers.

The ingredients tell the story that Phytoworx takes more of a nourishing approach than a blocking approach.

This puts Phytoworx shampoo up in strong contrast to a hair loss product like Ultrax Hair Surge, which aggressively blocks DHT (the hormone responsible for hair loss in most of us, men and women both).

There are definitely strong arguments to be made for either approach, and if the end result is not losing clumps of hair in the shower for both, then we can all be happy campers!

Benefits of using Organic Shampoo Products:

Phytoworx Hair Recovery Shampoo is made from organic ingredients. What does this mean for you?

It means fewer harsh chemicals, more ingredients containing the goodness of Mother Nature, rather than something mixed up by greedy companies looking to make a quick buck by slapping their name on a product that makes hair fall out more!

If you’re trying to live a clean, green life, included in this should be a search for non-toxic, all natural shampoo options. They’re easier and easier to find these days.

If you’ve only used cheap shampoo or conditioner and your hair or scalp needs reviving, organic alternatives can help. The stuff in the grocery store isn’t much better than washing your head with dishsoap, I’m afraid!

In sum, when you buy organic, it’s more likely that you’ll be buying purity, and more likely you’ll be supporting an ethical company.

Most non-organic shampoo contain harsh cleansing agents, and almost all of them contain sulfates, which are known to be drying. Why not give your scalp a gentler alternative?  You have nothing to lose but more hair.

Phytoworx Shampoo Reviews: Yay or Nay?

woman thumbs upWith a grand total of nearly 1,500 reviews on Amazon.com at the time of this blog post, Phytoworx has earned an average of 4.5 stars out of five.

This means the product has overwhelmingly positive reviews. Let’s look at some of the specific reasons why people love or hate this product:

The Yays:

  • Lots of positive results reported for ethnic hair
  • Many users see fast results
  • Does not dry out the scalp
  • Made hair thicker
  • Made hair stronger
  • Removes itching and dandruff

The Nays:

  • Needs to be used daily or nearly daily for best results – not ideal for those who prefer to shampoo infrequently
  • Due to lack of sulfates, does not lather, which might be weird for those used to suds
  • Some allergic reactions to plant-based ingredients – always read the label first!
  • Some reported greasy feeling after shampooing
  • Expensive

Overall: Encouraging – Try Phytoworx hair loss shampoo!

skinI’m always excited to see sulfate-free shampoos, and especially excited to see these products made in the USA. I want to support companies who are brave enough to take these steps.

Does the end result cost more? Sure. But the peace of mind resulting from not being poisoned by unregulated products made with child labor is a good exchange.

Given all of this, is Phytoworx worth the cost? If user reviews are any indication, yes.

I’m especially intrigued by the presence of plant stem cells, because I’ve never heard of that kind of technology being used to heal humans. So … sign me up! Given the confident and encouraging tone of all these positive reviews, I’ll give this one a whirl and report back to ya’ll with an updated review.

In the meantime…

    Penelope,
Your pros and cons bring out a lot of answers to my questions. The fact that it does not foam would be hard to get used to. I do wash my hair daily, so that would not be a problem.
As you state the price may be the biggest problem- almost $60 …you just have to judge for yourself if it’s worth the price.

Thanks for the comment, John! I agree that the price is a consideration, although for most of us used to spending serious $ on hair loss prevention products, this is about average 🙂

I really like that this product contains plant stem cells. I’ve tried beauty products using these cells and I’ve had great results. These plant cells help prevent collagen breakdown (and actually aid in collagen production) and contain anti-inflammatory properties as well as lock in moisture. I haven’t heard of this shampoo yet but I’m excited to give it a go! Thanks for including all of the review info from Amazon as well. Very helpful :)!

Thanks for the great comment, and I’m glad to hear you’ve had good experience with plant cells in beauty products. This is the first I’ve heard of it, but I’m totally intrigued. I mean, we know the medical value of human stem cells is just about limitless, so plant stem cells probably have some super powers as well.

Great review Penelope! I’m not sure that I would purchase this in the case of it being expensive. I like that its for guys too, though!

I like how it’s got lots of positive benefits and if it does work well with all the natural ingredients, then it could be a worthwhile investment for someone trying to prevent hair loss!

Phytoworx organic hair loss shampoo is something we could all use to protect our hair structure and hair loss. Those ingredients are extremely healthy and natural. I am going to stop buying these cheap shampoos I have no clue what people are putting in them and stick to organic. It’s the way to go. Everything natural is great! Thanks for this review.

Thanks for the great comment, Rob. Yeah, regardless of what you buy, it’s definitely good to migrate away from the $2 and $3 bottles of head poison. Natural is best, and sometimes that comes at a price but also with a reward!

Thank you for all this information, I had never heard of this shampoo before. I am going to try some out though because I believe in all natural product on our skin and hair. Those others damage our hair and we spend even more money going to get our hair treated then what we could buying this.

I agree completely: better to spend on the right product rather than the cheap product, especially if we have to scramble to get our hair repaired after it fails us! Come back and let us know how Phytoworx works out for you!

I ordered the Phytoworx supplement from Amazon. I have had hair loss for years due to Lupus and nothing I have tried has stopped it. I can’t believe I never discovered your website before now. This is a big topic for me as it is with any woman loosing her hair. I take the Vitamin D3 and have for 17 years but it didn’t help. I am hoping this will be my answer.
Great website. Very informative and your research is awesome.
    Thank you for the information.

Well, I would just wanna defend my buddy Vitamin D3…it is one of many important vitamins, and you might have noticed a difference (in mood, skin, and joint health) without it! And thank you so much for the kind words about my website. Come back and let us know how the Phytoworx works out for you!

Great review on Phytoworx Organic Hair Loss Shampoo. I like how you explained the benefits of the ingredients; I thought that was very helpful and useful. I naturally have thin hair; do you think this product will help thicken my hair? Thank you!

Hi Hong! Yes, this will definitely work to strengthen existing hair by improving follicle health and nourishment. These products are all good for this goal, even for women who just want thicker hair but aren’t necessarily losing hair.

Aloe Vera is very popular in our country and I am always interested in organic products that use it as ingredient. Phytoworx Organic Hair loss shampoo looks like a good product based on your analysis. What interest me more is that it removes itching and dandruff. I don’t usually shampoo daily so I was a little disappointed to read that you need to use it daily or nearly daily for best results. Maybe I need to change my regimen?

Penelope on November 19, 2017 Reply

well, if you aren’t dealing with hair loss you don’t have to wash your hair daily. The primary reason to wash that frequently, when you’re losing hair, is to expose your follicles to DHT blockers on a daily basis so they hold onto the hair! But yeah, even if you’re just looking to thicken hair, this shampoo is a great choice. Very cool that aloe vera is popular for you- as a kid I always used it for sunburns!

I find it so interesting how when combining many different basic ingredients you can get good results!
I am a basic person, I feel that this product does have an extensive ingredient list but it is a good ingredient list and if it works for people even better! Thank you for the review! If I had a problem with hair loss I would definitely try this product! I really like that they put plant stem cells in it to stimulate the scalp.

Thank you very much for this detailed information. I am getting older and so is my hair. It is graying and thinning, which is scary but I am thankful for people like you who take the time to educate people like me. I don’t always trust all products but I lean more towards natural products because you can eliminate the chance of using harsh ingredients. I really like that this shampoo doesn’t contain sulfate. Thanks for this info!
